old chat box or new chat box

I think it used to be where you had to type "player name > message" in order to whisper to players with a space in their name, but now it's "/w <player name>" with the angle brackets included within the parameter. Not a lot of new players know about how to whisper to players with a space in their name as there's no proper tutorial on using in-game commands, which is probably the biggest issue (the lack of a tutorial), not so much the command.

What would be nice is if there was a settings option to hide certain messages like certain server messages, particularly when you're accepting or completing a quest. Most of the time I already know what I'm doing, and all that the quest messages do is clog the chat box, especially when doing multiple quests.

 

It would be a nice chat toggle option.

The old chat box was lacking so improving it was a good choice on AE's part.

 

I have become pretty used to the new chat box so I don't really miss the previous one. It does seem like a good upgrade overall.

 

More control over a chat box attends to be an upgrade and that's what we got.
