How do you fix a game boy color game that won't even start? It goes to the GAME BOY screen, and where the word NINTENDO is supposed to be, it looks like a pickett fence. Can someone help me?

If I had to guess, it could be any of these possibilities:
    • Poor cartridge connection: I would recommend using a Q-Tip and some rubbing alcohol to clean the cartridge, then let it dry before re-inserting the cartridge.
    • Unofficial cartridge: Check that your game is legitimate (look at the label carefully and even the game's motherboard).
    • Unofficial or broken console: Doubtful that this would be the issue, but you can see if other GBC games work on the console. If other GBC games have the same issue, it might be worth looking into the motherboard of the console.
