    If the Graphics are horrible try adding a Texture Pack and the Game is fun because of the survival/freebuild.

    If you really care about the graphics, get something like Mixcraft. It's a type of mod-texture pack that ups the amount of pixels from 36 to 64. or something like that. But as pure said, it's really not about graphics but the ability to build whatever you like and just survive. :)
