    Today, I was reading news on fianance yahoo, and I found this article. It is a report about how many retail stores close this year, so I shared you guys.

    Gamestop is one of them, any thoughts/comments?

    > Forecast store closings: 500 to 600
    > Number of U.S. stores: 4,471
    > One-year stock performance: -2.2%

    In November, just as the holiday season was in full swing, GameStop Corp. (GME) announced it would close 200 stores in 2013. The video game retailer, hurt by growth in mobile gaming at the expense of console gaming platforms, had a 4.6% year-over-year decrease in revenue, as well as a 4.4% decline in comparable-store sales over the nine-week holiday period. For the third quarter of 2012, the most recent quarterly release, gross profits fell at GameStop’s three core product segments: new hardware, new software and used products.

    I'm torn. On one hand, jobs are lost and a game store starts to disappear, which is bad because I like window shopping. On the other, I hate gamestop. I've only ever had terrible service there, except once when it was mediocre.

    that's sad because it's really cool walking in
    inside any game store and see all the games
    displayed and you will start picking which one
    you have played and which ones are not :)

    I'm still working at my GameStop, surprised to see mine not get closed down yet. The building we are in is small, and really old. Some of our peg hook walls are falling off to lol.

    Yes, and to top it off, steam has lower costs since they don't have any physical stores, so Gamestop can't match those awesome deals that Steam has.
