    Considering having an award for the best new members each month. Thought it might be fun to reward the newbies that stay around to enjoy our community here:). It is always nice to see somebody who has an introduction thread here and then makes a major impact on the forum.

    It sounds like a good idea and it would certainly give new users a bigger incentive to stay.
    However, I wouldn't focus it on people that make introduction threads, or some good new users might slip through.

    It would probably be a poll in the style of member of the month and forum gamer and things like that. The problem I would see is that, while some months people start right out of the gate being impactful and helpful, that doesn't always happen, so you'd have an easily forgotten about thread sometimes.
    But then perhaps newer members might themselves take an interest in that thread, and compete to be the most impacting newbie of the month.

    I suppose what's needed most is input from people like you, llord, people who are still fairly new.
