    Maokai is pretty popular right now,i even see him on low lvls.He has dat nice E or Q not sure that gives him nice vision,he isn't played as jungler but a top laner.

    Not rly, his job is teamfights is to use ulty and hard cc, carries, u cant to that if enemy instant burst you, but if ur in huge lead, u can use RoA and Crystal Scepter, but after that u still need items like Omen and Spirit visage

    Maokai is really great tank, jungler and laner! On lane (top) I would build Rod of Ages, Boots is on you, iceborn Gauntlet, and other items depend on enemy team. If they are aps just take magic resist ( banshie's vail, spirit visage), if they got more ad just take more armor like frozen hearth, omen. He is really strong and tanky and for tank like he is he has really great damage!

    Keep in mind that mao's job isnt to kill, he just need to disable enemy carries so ur team have more chance to win, so tanky build is best for that
