    Ziggs has got great poke while diana is good for countering those AP burst guys such as fizz. Play them on free week and find out which one fits you better. :)

    currently, ziggs is in a better place then diana. diana was played a bit when she got released when she was pretty broken and very hard to lane against. after she got nerfed a few times, her ability to completely dominate her lane was toned down.
    additionally, ziggs is a pretty low-skill champ, his gameplay revolves around rolling your face over your keyboard and spamming every ability you have because they have low cd, low manacost, are all aoe, and have medium to long range, so you are bound to hit someone with them and when you do, it will hurt them. + ziggs has an escape mechanism in his kit, diana has none.
    if you'd rather play a diana-like assassin mid, you're better off with akali, akali is basically a no-mana diana with invisibility.
