    Huh, yeah, this news, while puzzling, actually makes sense for them. Age of Conan died the death of a ten-thousand screams (their consumers) moreso than anything else. A free-to-play model might actually give them enough time and money to fix their problems and slowly develop more content.

    Better for the extended drama. :argue:

    I agree, before WoW can go F2P, they'll have to release another, bigger playerbase MMO that will be P2P. Blizzard has certainly shown that WoW is a titantic cashcow and even as it is a pay service, they still made millions on releasing virtual items (like the sparklepony.)

    This property is still leading the MMO herd and it will continue to make them money as long as everyone else is attempting to copy their model. :p

    Perhaps Blizzards next P2P game will be the "secret" game they have started working on. My hopes it is a SC MMO, along with half the Terran Universe, Zerg and Toss prolly run apple. If so then either Wow will drop in monthly price, to 10? 5? but i doubt it will ever be F2P, not with all the GMS they employ....

    Maybe they will cancel the monthly price, but still make everyone buy the game and expansions for a (quite high) price

    I could see WoW going F2P after Blizzards next MMO is off the ground or if WoW 2 ever happens but who knows... Good to see another game go F2P... well it's actually kinda bad as it means it's probably not doing that well in the P2P space but it's better than going under... I'd guess Warhammer is next.
