Are points the same as credits? Or can credits be turned into points?
Yes, the forum currency that shows up as something like "Credit: 441,796.24" is also known as points. These are equivalent to the points on the main gameogre.com site where the shop is, transferrable (by asking ogreman) at 1:1 ratio.
Ogre Credits as Forum Currency
Thanks alot for the information, however I seem to be having an issue creating an account on the main site. Am I able to use my forums account for the main site?
No, accounts are completely separate.
Thank you this helped alot
oh nice way to inform other peoples
Would add staying consistent as a major help because you can get most of the shop stuff by doing that.
Seen many times through out the years of members who start out strong and are all happy about it (as they should be), but then do not maintain it and end up leaving as fast as they succeeded! The people who do this usually PM me like crazy and either stop because they don't get what they want or they get everything they wanted lol. Have had many examples of both. A few others just burn out because they did too much at once.
The ones that last tend to pace themselves and PM me a lot less. These are the Iron Ogres and they do get more rewards because they deserve it as the backbone of this community. Once you are established as an Iron Ogre you can get almost any shop item fast because you have built up a lot of points.
Posting a lot is fine and it does help with points a great deal, but please pay attention where you post at. For example, no member with the exception of somebody who just beat one, should be posting in more than one adventure at a time. Thus, posting in all adventures at the same time is not good at all and should be avoided.
Still having to deal with this in Ogre Adventures as some new members think they can post in all adventures.
Also noticing a pickup in Forum Games while the Forum Events remain the best and fastest way to get items here. In fact, we are starting a new one tomorrow.
Still having to deal with this lately from some new members. Its not hard to spot these members that are the biggest problem because they usually say it (one just hijacked somebody else's intro thread to do it) almost from the start and they seem to post anywhere they like! The more I have to delete their posts, the less likely they will get anything! Shouldn't have to hear how hard it is to get points or items etc when you just show up out of the blue without taking the time to participate in the community here. Why? Because that is why the points and items are here in the first place.
Ok, had to club somebody over this last week. The same one who hijacked somebody's thread to complain about not getting points fast enough was spamming posts in places they had no business being like various Ogre Adventures. Thus, clubbed him with the reason being Spamming.
Of course, he had to send a message wondering why he was banned for spamming and then proceeded to badmouth the site. Yes, that is a great way to come back lol.
Anyway, mentioning this because taking less of this stuff lately during all the craziness in the world right now. If anybody can not follow the rules and be a part of the community, they do not need to be here. Also officially announced the end of one-and-dones last week. Furthermore, will start penalizing new members who just complain about something like points or codes from now on. All they are doing is wasting our time and then leaving as soon as they get what they want. Its just not worth putting up with, especially during a pandemic. That said, closing this thread for now.
