    A few years ago i made a simple game in flash/actionscript but with no animations, just a character that moved left to right and was able to jump on objects. Never tried to make my own rpg but there must be websites where it's easier to make on your own

    Well RPG maker was funny but today i'm used to have fun creating games on Unity. I have no game yet, only smal areas and mobs.

    Played around with making one, but never committed to it. A successful RPG takes a lot of effort and resources (sound, music, art, programming, effects, etc.).

    But for anyone starting out with making RPGs, I'd highly recommend either Godot or RPG Maker.
