Just thought I add something for all those new to RuneScape, have thought about playing it, or would just like to know more. Currently Jagex has four released versions of the game. RS3, OSRS, CRS, and DS. You can use your same account information to login to each of the games, but your skills, money, etc. wont be transferred to the other versions so in sort your starting fresh in each version. I'll explain a little bit about each below: RuneScape (RS3) - The current version of the game that has been updated throughout the years. Most populated, Evolution of Combat (skill bars, hot keys, the typical MMO set up), also has Legacy Mode (traditional RS combat). Member skills are unlocked, but your only able to level them up to level 5 (this is just to show/teach you what the skills are, it's a tease). Old School RuneScape (OSRS) - This version is the 07' version. It has its own custom content (Zeah). Classic RuneScape (CRS) - The first version of RS, not much I can say here personally as I started playing in 04' (RS2). DarkScape (DS) - Similar to RS3 with the addition of being able to PK anywhere, Legacy Mode is always active (07' combat), and has all of its member content open for F2P. Paying membership grants bonus xp, double bank space, and lets you keep an extra item upon death. Relatively new. To say the least, things are quite different in DS compared to RS3. Be prepared if your coming from OSRS, and RS3. Additional info here. -- Closed on March 28, 2016. RuneScape Chronicles: RuneScape with cards, seems like a very interesting concept, you character (Hero/Legend) goes on an adventure using cards. If you have played or looked into the physical card game Boss Monster it is similar to this. I haven't looking into this as much because I'm awaiting beta access (fingers crossed for that email). If I'm missing anything or anyone would like to add anything feel free. Bonus: Eldevin is a similar game to RS, if your looking for something a little different with a similar style to RS.
