    Well, if two people can do the debate in the meantime then the winner will be champion and ScareCrow will be the top contender. If not, ScareCrow can do the debate as champion when he gets back.

    Good News! My dad managed to catch hypothermia, so i'm not going anywhere.

    Here goes.

    Social Browser shooters have a distinct advantage over your standard client shooter. Not only can they be hugely competitive, eg quake live, they can also be very casually orientated, eg battlefield heroes.

    Whats more, they can be played straight from your browser, generally with only a tiny plugin.

    I will take a shot:p.

    Just because you can play a shooter in a browser and do a friends list, does not make it a better game. CF, TF2, and L4D are all better overall shooters because they have more to offer to hardcore gamers. IMO, Quake Live and BFH are mainly just for casual gamers.

    That doesn't make much sense, Quake Live is one of, if not the most competitive pc shooter to date. Most of the gaming population are casual, therefore casual games have a far larger audience.

    Why doesn't it make sense? Casual gamers may have a larger audience but you still haven't proved why hardcore players will like them. More players may play the game but are you sure they will stick around like hardcore players would?

    You're changing the subject.

    Allow me to explain why quake live is probably the most competitive on the market, and a hotbed for hardcore gamers/

    First, they have servers everywhere, so it is rare that someone with a broadband connection experiences lag higher than 60 ping when connecting to their closest server.

    That, and the fact that it is basically quake 3 arena, one of the most hardcore games in history make it great for hardcore gamers.

    But it also caters for casual, having multiple difficulty ranks.

    You only have the option to only play people at your level, which is great for hardcore gamers and even better for casual.
