Most of the games today have a huge story and script behind it, which really improves the game quality and makes it even more interesting, but how many people really feel the need to connect with the game in that way, and follow it's lore?
So what do you think about the lore of games you are playing, and do you spend your time in knowing the game better.

If you do something else, that is not in the list, please post it bellow :)

I usually almost always glance at it. If its interesting Ill keep reading it, if its not then I just move on.

Kind of the same for reading quest dialogue in a game. If its a good story I read all the npc quest talk. if its boring I just skip to the end grab my quest and go.

The quest thing is same for me.
Let me guess, it also depends on how much time you have left and in what mood you are? :p

If it exists, I'll always go through the journal entries (collectible story), and any other official lore. I love to know the background of games, especially if it's a game where I'll try to roleplay a bit.

And it'd be a shame to not read what people had taken so long to write.

I just want to play when I start a new game! If I like it I may read the lore later.

I would only care about lore if it affected gameplay. Even then, not much.

If the setting is interesting I will read all about it. Like with Fallen Earth, I get heavily interested in back stories and settings related to post-apocalyptic scenarios and sci-fi scenarios. It is also likely the reason I don't read up much on the WoW back stories. The WoW back stories just read too much like fantasy fanfics.

    never heard of it lol

  16. Well of course I read the game's lore, depending on the game. If it's a game that I enjoy, then I usually read every bit of it, but I usually read most of the lore for other games.

For me, if the story is interesting and creative, I'd most likely read and get into it. However, if it's a copy of a similar rpg, I'd most definitely skip passed it.
