    This one kinda came out of nowhere, Fallout was honestly the last thing I expected Bethesda to announce with Fallout 4 happening just a few years ago. Supposedly this isn't a normal Fallout game though, rumors say it's a whole new direction and some are even saying it's a multiplayer game. Kotaku is even saying it's an Online Survival RPG. Pretty crazy stuff.

    The marketing reason is to separate it from Fallout 3, 4. Make it clear this is a different game, we dunno how different yet but it's not standard Fallout. Why 76 though, apparently Vault 76 was mentioned in both Fallout 3 and 4. I'm not big on Fallout lore so I'm not sure the vaults actual significance but it seems it may have been an important one. It's not tied to 1976 :)

    Oh i thought it was 1976 because of the trailer and the 76 on the tv screen. Haha Thanks!
    Companies skipping numbers now first was apple, xiaomi then fallout. But they do have reasons for them.
