    In a number of text games I've had one-on-one interaction with gm's, including having one in my federation (clan). Also stumbled across a Jagex mod once in Runescape.

    Yes, I've met a gamemaster (developer) several times, especially in MMORPGs that are in Alpha and Beta. They appear a lot during the early testing phases of the game.
