    I personally feel that akali is better. Both champs have been my main so i know allot about them. I would pick akali in almost any circumstances, unless kata is a direct counter too someone in that situation. Someone like akali. :)

    I'd say Akali is more forgiving if you get caught in CC (but not in CC chain). Her shroud is a decent help in that. Her ulti has quite a big range so you can ward--> jungle creep to escape and she has 3 dashes. 1v1 potential is amazing, and you can rarely escape from her. Having just rabadon and lich bane was enough to burst ADC (Not sure with then recent lich bane nerf-but it could work better with hextech now)

    Kata on the other hand focuses more on getting a kill or 2 on lane and then using the advantage she has on other lanes to get fed faster (Double kills on bot lane for example).
    She's a beast in teamfight if enemy team uses all CC before she even does anything.

    Akali would probably win her 1v1, because she has lower cooldowns on non ultimate skills so she can burst Kata without giving her the reset. On teamfight Akali with longer range ultimate can get APC/ADC easier, but Kata will melt half of their team if she's done right.
