Does anybody have a game network card like KillerNIC? I made the mistake of ordering it with my Alienware PC. It seems to be killing my bandwidth for some reason and Dell can't seem to help with it yet.

No, I read somewhere that a specialized network card isn't much better than the integrated one.

Yea, it doesn't seem to be. I think it was causing the driver problems as well.

    I may have mine removed.

Even if you have it removed, I don't think it will cause any more problems even if it wasn't the cause of the problems.

I am not sure what is going on. I used to get at least 800 kb/s for downloads, but now I get 180 kb/s at the most.

From what I can see it has a Bandwidth Controller... I'm assuming that is what's causing your problem. Sounds like by default for some reason it's setup to limit your bandwidth... assuming it's reserved most of it for gaming.

Tried to get more info on the controller but the page conveniently doesn't exist anymore on there website.

I will have to use trial and error to adjust everything I guess.

They're supposed to speed up the connection, reduce lag etc etc

Unfortunately, they don't actually make much difference so there's no point dishing out $100 to get one.

I finally fixed my bandwidth problems:). I had to turn off the bandwidth control of the game network card and then use my regular network card. Yes, game network cards are not worth it. Mine did more hard than good.

I had to purchase a new network card when i got uni 10 Mbit/sec internet, which was some years ago.

The new card didn't work on my old comp. So I traded the card I bought with my neighbour. He was pleased to get a new and supposedly quicker card and I was pleased to get a card that actually worked.
