MOBA Tournaments

I would like to play in this event what server will it be on because i am on NA server

I'll also explain the lower brackets system I suggested to use, for those not familiar with it.

As you can see in the image above, Player G loses the Upper Bracket Finals. He comes back in the Grand Finals however, and wins the tournament. This is because player G wasn't eliminated from the tournament. He was only send to the lower brackets. The lower brackets is a seperate bracket for the players that lost. They get to play more matches, but even someone who lost in round 1 can still make it to the finals.

For player B to still play the Grand Finals. He would have to win 4 matches in the lower brackets. Player A who beat player B and stays in the upper bracket only has to win 2 more matches to reach these same grand finals.

I think that Riot will implement the 1v1 map in the upcoming patch so let's wait and see. Infina I like your idea, had something like that in mind. I have 2 accs, one on NA (lvl 30) and one on EU West (lvl 15). So let's wait for the patch and we can make a tournament

 

I forgot about that new map. It will probably be released next patch (this week). We could already start the signups for the tournament.

 

The biggest issue here is the server we will play on....

 

I was thinking about that. I was going to make a tournament post to send to Ogre so he could see if it was fine. This is what I added about server selection:

Yep, I agree with you. If we can't think of something, well we can all make new accounts on the same server. Nobody will have advantages because we'll all have the same summoner lvl. Only issue there is that you depend on the free week champion rotation...

New accounts would be the best option.

 

My idea was to alternate between servers that we play on, and to just use empty rune and mastery pages. I already have an account on each server and it seems silly to make yet another one if I already have 3 accounts.


So do you guys prefer 1 set server (probably NA server) or switching server after every game of your best of 3 match (if your opponent is from another server)


and do you prefer new accounts or just selecting empty rune and mastery pages?



It's probably easy to pick 1 server to play on, but I would rather not select any runes/masteries so I don't need another account.

 

My concern atm is do we need different game clients for every server, since that would be a pain if we all need to download 5gb of game and patches just to play 1 match...

 

You can change the server in the launcher. I just checked and the patch to NA server (from EU West) was about 5MB. It just checks which files it has to update.

Sticking with 1 server is probably the easiest way. Judging from the list where people could post their name and server, NA server is most populated in GameOgre.

 

And sticking with one server would kill the chance for Europeans to win...

 

We would have pretty high lag on NA server

 

I dont get lag and if its on EU im not doing it

 

How about all players play 3 matches..

1 on their home server

1 on their oponents home server

1 on mutual server so both experience lag

and would only have to play 1 game if they on same server...or could always have a best of 3
