    Discuss here what you think the most popular game of ALL TIME is. Remember, you can go far back. Imo: Diablo 2 has been popular for MANY years and has kept a solid player base of 50K+, and it is a game that's been out since the 90's. Now with the emergence of D3, I think the game will become even more popular. Discuss your pick..:)

    Diablo 2 came out in 2000. Diablo came out in the 90's. I'm gonna say RuneScape out since 1998 (revision or "RuneScape 2" in 2001) is the most popular. It's always seemed to have a solid player base.

    Diablo 2 is a close second.

    Diablo/D2..Same game..^.^ I guess I have to say the same for RS/RS2, even though I was going to argue they only became famous because of RS2..^.^

    Um WoW has more subscribers than people who have registered on runescape sooooooo, WoW.

    But if where going most popular game, i'm gona have to say Starcraft. Unless this is RPG only then i'd go with Diablo.

    Before HD came, as that was when the gave the homepage a new look. A banner said "Over 5 million users registered, join today!"

    As that wasen't even a year ago i'm going to assume that the registered users of runescape havn't doubled since then.

    "The official Jagex record for 11/08/08 was over 135 million accounts created since RuneScape was launched"

    So no WoW doesn't have more subscribers than RuneScape has registered but it probably has more active accounts than RuneScape.

    Really, it's not vary nice to call someone ignorant... So WoW is the most popular just because it has the most subscribers? Honestly you can't decide the most popular game by the number of players because there is no way for us to tell how many there actually is.

    It says 11 million registered users, so it doesn't mean 11 million active users. Imagine how crowded the servers would get then...
