my mother died Wednesday night

My mother died and the funeral is Monday. I haven't been playing games as regularly while she took a turn to the worse. She didn't play games but she loved to hear me tell her about the games and the nice people who play.

Hug your Mom, one day she won't be here.

 

Mom was in the Hospice program for 6 months. This enabled her to be able to die at home. If you ever have a situation like this with a dying loved one, ask if they have Hospice available.

Mom was a 46 year survivor of breast cancer, (she had breast cancer at age 32 and was expected to die within 5 years so I was fortunate to have her for so many extra years) but it was congestive heart failure that killed her (same as my brother would died at age 51).

Thank you all for your kind support. It is hard for me when I see something and I want to tell Mom about it or if I think of a question. I keep catching myself thinking she is away on vacation. I guess that is "avoidance thinking" or some psychological thingy.

We are having another memorial, in a different state, so we have to go through it all again but Mom wanted to have a service held for her friends from childhood. So that is what we are going to do Oct. 3, 11 am.
