    It's official. Duplex Systems, a developer of massively multiplayer online games, announced that it is developing Nanoverse Online, a next generation massively multiplayer online (MMO) game featuring the most unique persistent world ever, the micro cosmos.

    The game is centred on Nanobots, complex structures of small nano modules connected to each other and interacting with a world featuring exceptional physical conditions. The world, being a micro cosmos, will offer unprecendented gameplay, unique in many ways and not known in any MMOG today.

    "It is not the visual power that counts, but compelling and exciting gameplay." said Marko Dieckmann, Managing Director, Duplex Systems. "Nanoverse Online will bring the fun back to MMOs, a genre full of cliches, copied over and over again."

    Nanoverse Online will be the second MMOG developed and run by Duplex Systems, a studio working on MMOG development since 2001. Compared to previous games, Nanoverse Online will be free to download and free to play without subscription fees, only charging for advanced and rare content through micro transactions.     Wow, this game is looks pretty interesting by the fact that its about bugs or nanobots and not cool looking dudes in shiny armor:cool:,I'm looking Froward to the CBT.

    "NanoBots will come in all flavours and colours. They consist of many single nano modules that shape them and define their features and strength. The variety of modules ranges from simple, static modules, propulsion systems, shields, energy generators, weapons, containers to modules with special functions.

    Each player starts with a single module and can build around that when gaining more and more resources. The connections between modules can either be fixed or flexible based on rules defined in the connected modules, physical conditions in the world or impacts with other objects.

    The combination of modules in NanoBots defines their integrity, energy resources, protection, offensive powers and propulsion capabilities. Players decide whether their NanoBots will be highly effective attack vehicles, defensive flying fortresses, fast and agile speed-bots or versatile all-round bots."
