Ogre Coins: A Guide

People have been asking what are they, what are they for, things like that. There's a guide for points, but not one for ogre coins, so I'm making one.

What are ogre coins?
Ogre coins are a form of currency used to buy card packs and in trades in Triple Triad.

What is Triple Triad?
quinn is currently putting together a comprehensive tutorial (here), but in short it's a trading card game you can play here on our forum.

What can I use them for?
The primary use for ogre coins is to buy card packs, of which there are currently three. The first is called "Starter Deck" and is 50 ogre coins, it gives you some low level cards (level one and two only), one of which you can choose (unsure on actual number, created a dummy account for the purpose of testing that and it got 17 cards). The second is called "Mixed Bag", it gives somewhat higher level cards, costs 100 ogre coins. The third and final is Ogre Bag Special, it costs 500 ogre coins, and it gives cards reaching up into level 5.
The other current use is in triple triad trades.

What are TT trades?
Trades are a system that allow players to trade cards and ogre coins between themselves. Any cards and any amount of coins can be put into trade, whether you offer them or request them. Some cards aren't yet obtainable, so even if you ask for them no one would be able to supply them, let alone willing to give it to you.

Alright, how do I get coins?
You get 5 coins for every post you make, and 10 for every thread.

What's the difference between points and ogre coins?
Coins are for Triple Triad only, whereas points can be used in the forum shop (for a full points guide, go here).

What if I want to trade coins for points? Or points for coins?
Points can be sent to another player, and coins can be traded. The person who is going to get the coins puts the specified amount of coins in the request side of trade, with nothing in the offer, and the coins giver accepts the trade. The points giver then sends the points (can also be done reverse, just depends on who goes first. REMEMBER: there is always the chance that you can be tricked out of coins or points, GameOgre.com is not responsible for those things, you took the risk knowing it could happen).

How many coins are points worth?
I would suggest trading with a 2 points per 5 coins ratio, as that's how they're earned: 2 points and 5 coins per post. A more favorable ratio can be given if you are feeling more generous.
Example: I trade JaredOzzy 5000 coins for 2000 points, fair exchange. 5000 coins for 1000 points, better deal for jared. 5000 coins for 3000 points, better for me.

Is there a limit on the size of the trade?
If there is, it has yet to be reached. The largest trade to date was this one (Jared only please =)).
