This is the discussion thread for Ogrepalooza Event
Do we need to tell you if we met the requirements of the steady bonuses in Ogrepalooza? Or you will be the one to check our activites and give the points?
My impression is that these are one time use, but I'd like to clarify anyway early in the event. Day 2 coming up!
Joining a Nation in Ogre Wars with a roll or already being a player = 500 points
Joining the GameOgre Steam User Group = 300 Points
Participation in at least three current contests or mini-contests = 100 Points
Winning another contest or mini-contest = 250 Points
Participating in MMO Review Spotlight = 250 Points
Winning a Review Contest = 1000 Points
Filling out the info needed at Make Your Forum Avatar into a Wrestler to participate = 500 Points
Yes , for the event will be fair and if someone use it again there would be a deduction points from the person who did it
Well it's a common sense that there's a one time point event only i think you can tell which is usable only once. It's highly recommended that people who joined the event would carefully read each text to avoid mistakes.
Ogre World Championship Event Discussion Thread
This might help cos some or most of them are still applicable on Ogrepalooza event c:
(If im not mistaken)
Speaking of one time use, I've noticed that a few people have been using Claiming at least one 5-post item (not counting forum games) in a day = 200 Points more than once even though there's (once) next to it. It is supposed to be used once per event, right?
You should claim each of them on the day they apply, which will then be checked with all the other items you post on that day.
Joining Ogre Wars is once per event, as is the steam user group and the Make Your Forum Avatar into a Wrestler item. Winning a contest, participating in the review spotlight, and winning a review contest are once per contest, ie if we have seven review spotlights in an event you can claim it once for each spotlight you participate in, and if we have one review spotlight you can only claim it once.
As Mayonnaise pointed out, a lot of these and similar questions were addressed last event, so feel free to peruse that discussion thread too: Ogre World Championship Event Discussion Thread
The current usage is correct, (once) just means that if you claim three 5-post items you still only get to claim that bonus once. There should be a dichotomy in notes for post items where "one-use" implies one time per event and "once" implies one time per day. We can expand "once" to "once per day" if it would help.
Just for clarification is BLOG event with 500 to 1000 points daily? or once? since i used it two times already.
Some items are one time or as they happen. For example, the review contest ones are as they occur and could happen a few times during an Event.
The blog is daily, but please use the lower range if you are adding the points yourself.
aye thank you for the info.
The Ogre Games ("Reviewing any Ogre Game once" item) oddly enough all have names of the form "Ogre ___", like Ogre Combat, Ogre Bounce, Ogre Wars, Ogre Wars Flash, etc. This explicitly excludes literally everything else, like Bioshock, Insurgency, arcade games, and anything else that isn't an Ogre Game.

Okay, thanks for the info.
I don't see it as often as some of the other things I point out, but it's time again to talk about a particular tag that goes with some items.
It's called "(not counted above)", and it implies, just like it says, that if you're claiming something under that item you can't claim it in any other way.
"Setting a new high score in the new XF Forum Arcade = 100 Points (Limit 4 per day on different games)"
What is this XF Forum Arcade? Does it just refer to Arcade here at GameOgre Forums and also what does XF stand for anyway?
XF = XenForo = the forum software we're using (scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see "Forum software by XenForo™ ©2010-2015 XenForo Ltd.")
So yeah, just the forum arcade. Topple the current high score for a game and you can claim it.
Ok, here is an update due to the server episode last week and the initial problem with reporting due to links.
1. No saves will be needed for any time during this.
2. Points will be updated tonight for the first time since the server went down.
3. We tried a second thread for Event reporting but it is not needed anymore since the whole problem was not a forum or a thread but using http or https in links in any post. Will simply record the points if they are not a copy of the main Event thread and close that thread since it is not needed after all.
A lot of people copy old posts in the event thread, post them, and then edit in new stuff. I find that pretty confusing (the forum autosaves drafts if you need it for formatting) but more than that you need to make sure you actually remove the things you didn't do that day while you're tweaking it. Everything you post on the forum and blog leaves a timestamp, and if you're (re)claiming stuff that is a week old it's painfully obvious. Just practice good janitorial habits and you'll be fine!
