Space Empire Facebook Game: A Few words from Frank Westall

"The game really is a great game and not because I am part of it ;-).
Just so you know, our goal has been to try to bridge the gap between the traditional gamer and the social gamer and this is the first in a series of games we believe will do that. We entered into a development/publishing agreement to develop some of the popular pc/cd games from the 90's into social games. This is the first in a series of those games.

The guys/gals that created, designed, programmed and administrate it are all Core Gamers that just happen to be great programmers, artist and admins. They stay true to the gamers experience and are almost FANatical about making sure the game is not just point and click, but something that is as easy as any social game, but has the depth of a great chess match based upon the players around you and the excitement of a war game.

What really and this sounds funny, makes the game so great is the social interaction of the gamers, yes I mean interaction. In the game they have Galactic Chat and this allows players in real time to both communicate with all players and not just their “friendsâ€. We have known and understood both gamer to gamer and admin to gamer real time interaction for over
5 years and made sure it was incorporated.

Space Empire Special Features:

* A very unique attacking system. Fleet VS Fleet turn style
attack system and also having the option to attack other users planets this is not a normal attack system, because you as the player actually participate in the attack and the system will generate a report to show you the out come.

* A non intrusive way of bringing your friends to the game.
You do not have to ask your friends to join (which is mandatory in many social games, so it becomes spam), instead you can make your friends Commanders in Space Empires, simply by choosing them from your friends list and then posting to your wall which then makes your friend aware they have been chosen as a Commander and that will interest them enough to check the game out to see what you are playing and what role is assigned to them.

* Our galaxy map actually allows users to travel through the
galaxies in search of friends or enemies. The galaxy map has a unique travel system that allows players to scroll through the galaxy. We also have a search system in the galaxy map that actually shows you moving through the galaxies to find the other user simply by entering there co ordinates.

* Very high standard of graphical images.

* Space styled farming / harvesting section. You actually get
to decide what you plant and grow in your farms which then in turn provides you with the in game currency to use to purchase other in game resources.

- The in game chat is always highly active now. This is CRITICAL as part of a social game. With the Galaxy Chat players that normally would not chat with each other(because they are not Facebook friends) do so in the Galaxy Chat, in fact these players may click on and assist each other in building there items for others by clicking on the help url.

- The Galaxy Map is one of the great sections of the App. The way you can browse the Solar Systems and watch it as it takes you through the Galaxy to find the Planets to conquer.

- The Instant Battle Section (Beta - allows players to challenge and fight with their Spaceships).

- The Space Probes section - Finding new Planets and in addition your Probes bringing back resources and items.

- Fleet Management section. By giving all of the Sections to control your Ships manage your Fleets, Guarding your Planets, Upgrading and building Colony Ships. Also users can purchase resources from the Galactic Market. Not many other games offer to purchase resources directly from the game usually it is player on player.
