    It didn't take me a long time to adapt to the console controls but it took me a few minutes to adapt to the change of monitors along with the controller.

    I've actually grown used to console controls having played PS2 games, and even some portable consoles. It doesn't take long for me to adapt to console controls, though it might depend since some controls are different than others. I'd say it takes about 30 minutes of gameplay until I'm actually used to the controls.
