What do you classify Minecraft as?

I heard that 1 of the creators is making a game similar to minecraft

You need to create a whole new category for minecraft. Minecraft is something that no one else has ever attempted to make. Everything in minecraft was made by the players.

 

It is a Sandbox. You have to create the RPG part yourself most of the time since RPGs usually last longer while I can get full diamond in 1 hour or so. (just saying it isn't a lot of time to get endgame armor)

 

Well, the real end nowadays is beating the ender dragon, I don't see you doing that in 1 hour

 

Well when a ton of the players use Invedit (trust me they might say they are "legit" but no...they aren't. Its the same thing with ANY game that has an inventory editor) and get to that within minutes.

But if you REALLY wanted to get to the point of killing the ender dragon. Thats probably an hour getting all the pork you would need + the hour getting the diamond gear. And another hour (I dunno what you need to get to enderdragon. havent really played the game in a while) trying to get the supplies to teleport to the Ender realm. After that...Fight?

Not sure what you might want to add for arrows too.

 

The Ender Dragon is... more like impossible xD

You first need to gather ender pearls, some obsidian for a nether portal, get some blaze rods for blaze powder from blazes in the nether, find hidden ruins in the ether using ender pearls, repair a broken End Portal, travel to the end (packing lots of pork, arrows and full diamond armor, you will need a diamond pick/lots of ladders to be able to destroy the like 20-30 healing totems (on top of obsidian spires with about a height of 20?) the dragon uses, and then kill the dragon (which on itself is already almost impossible xD)

 

I second Kings's message. The Ender Dragon has over 100 health, destroys any block it touches (except End Stone, bedrock, and obsidian), flying and recharges health at each of the towers. You'd need full diamond armor, (as enhanced as possible) instant/regen/strength potions, diamond sword, at least 2-3 stacks of arrows, and ladders/other material. But that's just the boss itself. You also have to take into consideration the hundreds of endermen in the End. To even get to the End, you need to get lots of Eyes of Enders (Ender Pear, Blaze Powder) and find a stronghold while trying not to get killed by the silverfish spawner. But before that, you need diamond armor. :| You need 24 diamonds for a full diamond armor, and 0-8 spawn per chunk at level 0-10ish. Takes more than an hour to do all that. heck, it takes more that 3 hours to do it. It really depends on how good you are or how lucky you get.

Minecraft is basically an RPG Sandbox game where you literally craft the world. It's your rules, and with all the features and mods with it, there are nearly endless possibilities!

 

I agree with Epic's description. I love it and was totally worth the 20 bucks xD

I classify it as something more than just a sandbox since you can pretty much create almost any genre out of Minecraft with a bit of creativity. At the heart of the game, it still is a sandbox though.

 

i would say an action survival game for the whole family to enjoy

An iconic game. I don't know if it's legendary but definitely iconic.
