Basically my question is what elements/other things does a good mmorpg need to make people want to play it. Like WoW for example it has story and stuff. So basically im just asking for kind of like a list of what a good mmorpg has in it and needs.

    Baseline: Be fun. :p

Unfortunately, right now players just want flashier graphics, and that's what comes out nowadays. All style, little fun content.

Maybe it's just me, but I still find Ragnarok Online fun (except for the grind). Maybe that's why I like stuff like Mythos global or something. Just basic hack and slash.

A MMORPG needs to have a large community that is loyal to the game in order to be successful.
