What you guys think about Shadowslayer Recolor

It isn't bad ... but I prefer black

 

I like it more than the brown one but i definitely prefer the black one.

 

Red doesn't look natural, that's all I would say. I'd prefer a color like brown or black over a red color. Even the color blue would stand out more than the color red, but both of those colors would look awkward for a leather armor.

 

Of the 3 variants (only the brown one is obtainable so far) the red is my least favorite.

 

if the stats are the same, I wouldnt even bother getting it.

 

I expected this set to get recolored and there it is! I do like how the sword looks and in general i say that the set is good looking alright.

 

red on leather doesnt really look right to me

Recolors are normal, i just dont like this particular recolor

 

Who made this btw? It look. Hmm. Cool. But in game? It has this artifial/plastic kinda feel. (As of now, w/ the pic provided)

 

I would at least expect a retexture than a recolor, or maybe a recolor with more color swaps than a simple shift in hue. Adding a completely different texture would at least make items, even ShadowSlayer, seem new in some way. Changing just one color, especially to an awkward color choice, doesn't make an item so special.

It would probably be DageTheEvil. He paints things, and he was the one who shared the red variant of the armor.

 

Many other gaming companies utilize the same strategy, it's a good way to use assets and it's going to be saving space too so i don't see that much harm in it unless it goes way overboard.

But some game companies do retextures instead of recolors. I find recoloring an item to be a lot controversial and "lazy" because players will argue how the items look the same, whereas retextures have more difference, but do utilize the same model. I just hope AQ3D doesn't abuse "recolors" and "retextures" the way AQWorlds does. Even acknowledging that AQWorlds is a 2D game, it seems to have a bad reputation for recoloring rare items and other items. Knowing AQ3D is a 3D game, the team can't just rely on unique models every time, but at least AQ3D doesn't overdo recolors and retextures like AQWorlds does.

I hope to see a black variant in the game. Black looks great on almost anything.

 

I feel like this is a set i'd wear a lot if i just started the game, it's a decent looking set for new players.

this reminds me of dragon quest, and the recolors of monsters are ok because they put more effort into character development and bad and good events triggering all around

 

Im not a fan of recolored items :3

 

i dont like items being recoloured. but red or black is always better than brown
