Will Proccesor with AM2+ Socket fit in AM2?

Hi Guys!

So i recently decided to upgrade my Proccesor since i havent changed it in a couple of years now. Ive found one with a good price but its slot is AM2+.

Now considering the fact that my motherboard is Gigabyte GA-M56S-S3 which has an AM2 Slot, im wondering if AMD Athlon X2 7750 with AM2+ Slot will fit in the motherboard.

If you could answer this question, or give me a tip for a better processor, i thank you in advance.
