Trion reveals scarwood reach in latest rift

In new assets released today, Trion Worlds reveals the troll-haunted hollows of Auldwarden, the explosion of life energy and overgrown ruins of Howling Plateau, and Lothers Strike, home to barbed and bulbous foliage living amongst the tragedy that has become Scarwood Reach.

The sacred forest of Telara was once plush and covered with granitewoods, trees as gray and solid as their namesake stone, wrapped with vines that grow nearly to the sky. Now the land is scantily covered with only a few of the trees that once dominated the landscape of Scarwood Reach. All foliage has been cut away, and now the servants of Greenscale are seeking to cover the land in unchecked growth from the Plane of Life, which will soon choke out native life and cover Telara.

 

Trion releases “build your class†video featurette

Trion today released a video showcasing the Ascended Soul System players will use to create their ultimate class in the upcoming MMORPG, Riftâ„¢. In the video, a character from the Warrior calling tailors their class abilities on the fly to tackle three different gameplay situations: solo adventuring, PvP, and main tanking.

Maelforge’s cult, the Wanton, hold their revels among the charring ruins. Also amongst the destruction are Flamebringer Druhl, the demonic general of the Wanton armies, and Pyromancer Cortilnald, arguably the greatest living Mage of his school. There are advantages to chancing the deep waters of Lantern Hook. Traitors are revealed and heroes can learn the identities and tactics of all the cult’s major leaders.

 

Rift lore 101: The mathosian civil war & shyla, grand lady of the high elves

In new assets released today, Trion Worlds reveals the trials of the Mathosian Civil War, along with the reveal of “Shyla, grand lady of the High Elves. The tales from the “Mathosian Civil War†are detailed in the journal entries of the corrupted Aedraxis Mathos as he chases his brother Zareph across Telara. In each entry, Adedraxis sets the stage for the battle between the mighty Mathosians and the anticipated wrath of Zareph and his militia of rebels.

Among Zareph’s trusted followers is Shyla, who gave up love with Prince Hylas to lead her followers to join the Mathosian rebels into war. There Shyla ascends into one of the first Guardians.

 

Valve’s Team Fortress 2 is about to be invaded by Rift, the upcoming MMO from Trion Worlds. Both companies announced today that Steam customers who pre-order Rift by March 1st will receive two exclusive melee weapons in Team Fortress 2: the “Sharpened Volcano Fragment†and “Sun-on-a-stick.†Additionally, the Valve team is adding a permanent Team Fortress 2 achievement that grants players a redeemable code for an equally exclusive (and terrifying) headpiece in Rift,the “Well Spun Hat.â€

Team Fortress 2 players will automatically receive the melee weapons beginning today, while players lusting after the Well Spun Hat must complete the new “Riftwalker†achievement. After applying the code on their Trion account page, Rift players will receive the hat in their in-game mailbox beginning with the game’s headstart period on February 24th.

All Steam pre-order customers will receive the weapons, including those who’ve already purchased Rift through the digital platform. This offer is available to Steam users worldwide.
