Please read this entire post if you're thinking of applying.


It's that time again! The Zybez Content team is looking for some fresh members to join our ranks. However, this time around, the application process will work a little differently, and hopefully this new way will be a lot easier for you guys to submit an application to us. Before, we had you guys go to a designated subforum and create a topic where you would type it up. Well, not this time! You can simply submit to us your application using the form you're currently reading. Much easier, eh?

As a first order of business though, I'd like to tell you about some changes that have been made to the team as of late. Recently, there were two different teams that handled all of the content on the website: The Maintenance Crew (MC) and the Database Crew (DC). Each team had their own responsibilities when it came to maintaining their own individual parts of the website. This separation has been removed, resulting in every member now being a part of a universal content team having access to everything on the site. So this time, while you're filling out your application, you no longer have to be forced to pick a side. Once you're in, you'll be able to help contribute to every project we're currently working on or keeping updated.

If you're interested in applying to the team, please make sure you read everything below before filling out the application. By submitting an application, we are assuming that you have read and understood all of the details outlined on this form.

Requirements



1.You must be able to keep secrets. Obviously, the tools you will have available to you as a content team member are not available to the general public. Sharing details with a normal user about anything specific to the mechanics associated with the content team, or any information not normally available to that normal user, is strictly prohibited.

2.You must not have previously worked for, or been affiliated with another major RuneScape fansite.

3.You must have a secure computer installed with relevant and legitimate anti-virus/anti-spyware software, along with a firewall. We cannot risk allowing you to have access to all of Zybez's material if you're running an unsafe computer, as it puts us at risk as well. If you want to check the current security strength of your system at the moment, Click Here, click on 'Proceed', and then click the 'All Service Ports' tab. It will produce a grid of colored boxes, the more green boxes that appear, the more secure your computer is.

4.You should still have an interest in RuneScape if you want to be on the team. If you quit playing years ago, you'll find it very hard to keep up with what's going on with the information we need to keep updated. Also, please do not apply if all you're trying to achieve is more recognition. Being a content team member does not guarantee you any rating increases or rank promotions here on the forum. We're looking for passionate members that are interested in helping to keep the best RuneScape fansite smooth and shiny.

5.You must be a Member+ here on the forum in order to apply (made at least 50 or more posts). While being registered here on the board for a certain length of time wont be a strict requirement, the longer you've been here the better you'll look. Why? This shows us that you have been using the forum/site for a period of time now, and it shows us that you intend to stick around.

Expectations



High quality literacy skills
What you'll be putting out on Zybez will be read by thousands of people, so your writing needs to be neat and presentable. What you type will represent Zybez as a whole, and we don't want to release content with grammatical errors or spelling mistakes. In other words, we don't want any l33t sp33k or txt tlking kkthx ttylbbq?


Dependability
We need to be able to rely on you to take charge and be proactive about the work you do for the website. You should work towards establishing yourself as a person who can complete tasks without having been asked to do them, and respond to the needs of the website as they come up by using your own proper judgement. In addition to this, please do not send in an application if you doubt that you'll be adequately active enough to help contribute. For example, if you're regularly busy with school/work/after school stuff, make sure those are your top priorities before you consider to allot time to be on our team.


Runescape Knowledge
It is preferred that you actually play Runescape and know about recent updates so you could work on updating information relating to it for a fast-as-possible release.


Using IRC
If you are currently an active user of IRC, great, because it serves as our main method of live communication between the content team members. If you want to send in an application, please download and get familiar with IRC.

What will you be able to do?


So now that all of the requirements and stuff are out of the way, I think it's fair to let you in on what you'll be able to do upon being accepted into the content team. Listed below are some general things you will be able to do:


Fix corrections submitted by our users.
Ensure all content is kept up-to-date.
Assist with major content overhauls.
Check content for grammar and spelling and valid xHTML before release.
Replace low quality images with HD images.
Moderate all user submitted content. (e.g. screenshots, comments)
Develop new content, as needed/required.
Report site based errors to the Managers who report them to Curse developers.
Continue to make Zybez the best and help it grow even bigger!

rs wikia does give pretty good quest guides =D and skills
and more explains but i think that zybez updates and explain the updates
but i cant find anythin for wikia so u have to search there...
