Comment: Warface, the first experience of Crytek in the free-to-play field, is a very nice competitive online FPS, with a lot of well-known game modes and fast gameplay. The visuals are pure Crytek quality, and even if it’s not an original game, it surely deserves a deep look.

Comment: Really great game from Crytek. The storyline is perfect and the CryEngine 3 is running really smoothly in this game.I've only played multiplayer of Warface and I must say it amazed me. It has 4 classes which you can choose (Medic, Rifleman, Engineer, Sniper). It kinda reminded me of Battlefield but this game has its unique multiplayer modes and really unique backgrounds. What else to add that Darkboy didnt mention.. Hmm, just try the game out yourself and you wont regret it.

Comment: Crytek have been smart when they developed Warface. The goal has always been to create a fast paced action kick that does not pretend to be anything else either and is riding on the wave of the F2P games, is made of very solid ingredients and treats the players with respect. I can't deny that it is a successful move. And with the final game in front of me, I can say that they actually succeeded. The game does not require any regular installation at all - after the creation of an account, you log in to the website and run the game directly from the browser using a short plug-in. It's quite fascinating how well everything works right from the start. The flow is rarely disturbed by network problemsand the time it takes to start playing a match from that moment you start the game through the browser is not long.

The game mechanics are brilliant and it is evident that the developers have worked a lot on the weapon feeling and the way that the bullets hit their targets . The weapons are all very well balanced where even the guns are useful to the same extent that, for example, machine guns, something not seen too often in action games like this. A very useful skid control is implemented, as well as the ability to climb over the walls, but in general, Warface is playing with standardized weapons action under template 1A and never raise the hand to create something special. It's incredibly easy to get into the gaming experience and satisfaction as well as the craving for more is higher than with other shooters like Combat Arms or Crossfire.

Crytek wants to offer game modes to suit different occasions and have added some different choices. In addition to free for all, team based slaughter and Plant The Bomb, there is also a game mode called "Storm", where the focus is on the defense and attack strategic points on the map and "Destruction", which is to hold a checkpoint to later call in an artillery strike. Nothing is out of the ordinary but nevertheless satisfies different needs among the players. Moreover, there are a lot of maps to choose from - Farm, Hangar, Dock, Wide Street, Black Gold and Yard are just some of them.

This is a nice game for the eyes too, for the most part. Crytek isn't exactly called graphic kings for nothing. The work with the blurriness, image depth and the thick strokes of bloom in the filter screen is bright and perfect for the frantic adrenaline rush that each game provides. You might spot some low res and bland textures, but it is acceptable after all, since the game didn't exactly a Crysis budget to play with.

Regarding the audio portion Crytek has also done well here. Shooting sounds always sound rich and comes with a nice echo, while explosions and sound effects as well as footsteps and stabs are all carefully designed. The only minus here is the voice acting, which sometimes sounds a little too contrived.

Warface is a game that is always struggling to keep you on your toes and panting other players in the neck when you are throwing grenades and shoots up front on the scoreboard, with or without deficient voice acting. On the premises, I think altogether that Crytek has succeeded and as a free game, this is very entertaining and clearly worth to play. It's not even near as ambitious or large betting as Planetside 2, but it's a fun game that can still keep you entertained for several hours.
