    YESSSS! New title! :D

Fine, list six current generation console games that allow modding. Then I'll list some more PC games that have modding. And we'll see who stops first. No, not every game allows modding, but the popular games that do such as Half-Life 2 have expanded into so much more than a single game. That's the "big deal" I am making over mods. No longer is Half Life just a FPS, it now has the capability to be a zombie survival game, a puzzle game, a 3D platformer, and so much more. Warcraft III is no longer just an RTS, I can now play Island Defense which is a survival game. Or Tower Defense. Or thousands of other types of non-RTS games.

I've seen good and bad games from both ends of this, however I prefer console games slightly more even though I use both practically evenly

PC: story can be more in detail depending on what you are looking at, usually where MMO games are located from what I've seen. Laptops are not good for gaming more times than not(personal experience)

Console: graphics are sometimes better, but it depends on the game, and the stories can be in detail, but often isn't. usually little interaction if you are an offline player

this is only from what I've seen, there is most likely stuff I have not seen yet and probably should before I actually do this post, but whatever

Although I don't have a Xbox 360, Ps3, or Wii I say Consoles are better. PC has a larger variety of games to play with but if you don't meet the requirements of the game, it'll screw you up. Consoles won't do that like Quinn said.

I think that this is part of the real sticking point between console and PC: the console represents a static platform built for the games it will run; the PC is a powerful system designed to do a lot of things and games are built to take advantage of as much as possible. The latter ends up generating games that people with last gen PCs cannot play.

Also the result is that console games that have PC ports (or vice versa) feel dumbed down on the console. :)

a $900 PC can handle any new games today and will last you a good five years.

the only thing you would need to upgrade by then is the processor or video card :D

A PC will last 5 years? I doubt a $900 computer will be able to play brand new games in 2 years. At least not handle the games well.

my last PC was was 4 years old and could handle every game out with a little tweaking.
during that 4 year period the only thing I upgraded was the processor.

I only bought a high end rig to play games like empire total war
and again with a little tweaking this will last me 5 or even more years :D

oh yeah I could care less what my resolution or how low my settings is as long as I can play the game...

That is also a problem, this is almost 3 times as much as any console.
Although, on a PC you can play free games (Free to play MMO's) and for a console you have to pay for every single one.

Except that technology has been improving at an exponential rate. So the length of time that a computer will be relevant is shortening. (At least until a limit is reached or the long withstanding pattern is broken.)

Consoles are affected as well, but I would just like to say that how long computers will work to play modern games is shortening.

well anyway I just find that there's much more I can get out of a PC than a console :D
but if you just want to play games then I guess a console would be better

my old PS2 and PS1 consoles are already stored for safe keeping but I play the PS1 from time to time :p

I'm not planning to buy any of the new gen consoles though, cus i can play them at my neighbors house woot!

PCs can be more expensive if you have to upgrade you system to play the latest games.
