Beatshapers and tastyplay.com bring ‘stardrone’ to playstation®vita!

A whirling frenzy hits Sony PlayStation®Vita as Beatshapers and TastyPlay.com partner again on StarDrone, a wickedly fast-paced action video game.

In StarDrone you control the trajectory of a spaceship launched in a zero-gravity environment via the centrifugal force generated by connecting and disconnecting its energy beam to special anchor points. Featuring a top-down perspective, players pilot their spaceship across the galaxy, collecting pieces of Equilibrix in order to restore the balance of the universe and stop the expansion of evil race of G-Noids. It basically plays like pinball-meets-Breakout-meets-shoot-em-up, using the Vita’s front multi-touch display and multi-touch rear pad to select anchor points, fight enemies and interact with the rich game environments. StarDrone’s game mechanics is simple, but at times challenging, flashing back into the good old arcade days. The PlayStation®Vita version will share online leaderboards with PlayStation®3 version (which is already released on the PlayStation®Stores in US and Europe and supports Move motion controller) allowing for truly cross-platform competition. Besides, StarDrone for PlayStation®Vita will feature additional game modes, challenges, brand-new levels, enemies and power-ups, as well as social discovery features. The game is scheduled to be released as an PlayStation®Vita launch title later this year.

Meh, at this point I would still rather have a 3DS. I want to see some good titles first. For example, the PSP was a better mobile console than the Nintendo DS, it had better graphics, better screen, better controller, etc. Yet the DS was so much better overall because it was cheap and had lots of good games for it. Right now we know nothing about Vita games, yet the 3DS already has Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory remake, a Resident Evil game, and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake.

I want to know all the features that will make the Vita better than the PSP and 3DS.

Meh, Nintendo has once again won me over with handhelds. Sorry but when the 3DS is $80-90 cheaper.. yeah.

That may not be a large amount for a console but for a handheld me putting out $150+ is already a big deal.. I would maybe consider $199.99 but $250 is just crazy.

I wanted to get it... after the price goes down.

Since Blazblue Extend is coming out on the PS3 anyway, I might not buy it anymore. :p

The Vita definitely looks nice. iirc the 3DS was also $250 when it first came out (thankfully it dropped) so the Vita will probably see a similar decrease. However, I guess I'm more of a Nintendo fan at the end of the day.

I was initially pretty banked toward getting the 3DS to replace my Lite, but I agree with Portal--now that CSE is slated for consoles I don't think I'll bother buying one anytime soon. ;)

Bad news of the Vita, it's gonna use a proprietary card memory card, prices are $29.99 - 4GB, $44.99 - 8GB, $69.99 - 16GB and $119.99 - 32GB... which is ridiculously overpriced, they haven't said what size is included in the box if any at all.

They say it's for security reasons but honestly it's probably to increase the profit margin, they wont be making much off the Vita itself at $250 for at least a year or two.

I don't know how they'll make many sales with memory being that expensive...

    Wow I was ignorant. :p

I'm now selling my 3DS and am deciding between buying a PS3, Vita, or iPod Touch with the money.

I would love to have it but 250 bucks? I can get a whole system for that kind of money.
