As you might know I already reviewed Aion but as I continued to research I found out a lot of more cool things. I actually didn't try the game yet and I do plan to buy it some time this week. So i'll probably make a part 3.

    PvP/General
At first I thought Aion was a PvP game but apparently Aion is not PvP focused. If you think Aion only focuses on PvP the entire game then you're wrong. It has roughly 50% PvE and 50% PvP, so do not come to Aion and think this is not for PvE. This game might still be for you. The only problem is every realm is PvPvE which means you can get killed while questing, however it does announce when the rifts open so you can keep an eye open. Even you will have fun at PvP in this game, as other games such as WoW would make any class die within 2-5 seconds. Fortunately, you do not die within 2-5 seconds in combat in PvP, as this was fixed in patch 1.5 where they reduced all damage incoming from players by 45%.

The Pvp in WoW let me down because well... it had no thrill.. I didn't lose anything so when 5 people ganked me i didn't try to live, or give it my best to kill someone. In Aion there are battlegrounds, but they involve gear: you must register at a certain point of the day to access them and they are up to 2 hours long. They are almost exactly like rated battlegrounds, since you face opponents of your own skill level. When you die, you lose rating... when you kill you gain rating, the higher rating you have the more times you can access this battleground a day. This battleground is limited, you cant just win and re-enter, you must wait quite a while. The starter rank in this battleground is once a week, the second bracket if 4 days a week and the final bracket is 5 days a week. These battleground(s) also include capture objectives and PvE monsters to include PvE. I think that BGs in Aion would be much more thrilling because well you lose rating! If you see a pack of people approaching you, you run the other way look for cover!

    PvE
At first I thought that if there WAS ANY Pve at all in this game it would be tank and spank but t he PvE in the game in end raid are NOT tank and spank, in fact the bosses are randomly scripted.
For example lets say Flame Leviathan uses flame vents.

You know exactly when Flame Leviathan is going to use Flame vents because your DBM tells you when the cooldown is finished. BUT, in Aion these bosses do NOT use the ability as soon as it's finished. Instead you do not know when they are going to use it and they can sucker punch you! DO not worry though, they do have cooldowns... so they won't spam it randomly.

You must use Crowd Control and a good balance of party, in some bosses you even need to run away from him or else you will die.

You cant have 6 paladins (as an example) complete a dungeon, you need a balanced set-up.

This is much better I think because it it will actually require skill because you don't know when the boss is going to do their special moves.
You know I think WoW requires no skill at all. If you have a lot of time, then your geared. At least you will actually need to focus in Aion.

    Graphics

Great, in fact I was really shocked to see a game like this actually beat character customization in every game including the best selling game available... The Sims.
Because the system is so advanced it makes everything vanish from a far distance, and reduces polygon count and graphics in towns on character. But you can disable that.

The biggest concern is people are afraid that a high tech game will lag a lot simply because they lag in ULTRA mode in WoW. Fear not, apparently the game is advanced. It reduces detail you cant see on the screen and more. My friend actually played the beta. On ultra mode in WoW he played on 15 fps so we assumed that he will lag Aion. But on highest settings he played on 60 fps.

Alternately, you could just press shift+f12 and remain invisible to towns. What this feature does is it phases you into a non persistent world, which only your group (or legion) can be shown in it.

For example, you are in a town... there are tons of players, press shift+f12 and BAM... they disappear, and only your group and legion shows.

    Combat
If this is true.. it will be amazing:
Apparently in aion, you are rewarded for moving
IF you move forward, you are given +10% to damage stats, even spells.
If you move sideways, you sacrifice physical stats (-70%), and also lose -20% movement speed while going sideways. But you also gain evasion and dodge while doing that, so it evens out.
If you move backwards, you lose 70% physical damage, but get a drastic increase to your parry and block by 5 times the original stat. (%500)

This encourages players, even in PVE to move constantly to gain full effect to gameplay. Which also prevents tank and spank.

You will always face your target on cast, regardless if they are behind you.
This means even people who are using a laptop, can actually play a spell caster and not have melee auto win just for going behind the caster. We're already wearing cloth, so it evens out I guess.

    Guilds

Guilds are unique in this game, there will be a Legion House or guild hall... in the future but no ETA yet.
You can create your custom cape, I'm not sure on the limitations though.
Each legion is based on a level, each member of the guild has to contribute to increase the level (by donating money kindly or the guild leader pays all at once).
The maximum you can have in a legion is 90, however you need at least 20 members to be able to buy abyss items.

There is an "alliance" feature, but it's not like guild wars. Instead it's the "raid" feature of Aion.
There are custom channels you can create to simulate an "Alliance" in Aion.

If you feel your guild tag is too old, you have an option to change it freely.

Hope you enjoyed the second installment of the Aion Review... hopefully if and when I buy the game I'll make a third review. I'd also like to know whether you guys think Aion will ever be as ''Serious" as WoW.
