AQ3D Players should be able to walk too!

    We know that when it comes to movement and how we do it, we run around (and also teleport too), but we cannot just simply walk for some reason. Animations for walking are already in game and many NPCs have already demonstrated this. Players are able to experience walking when they get stunned, but there isn't any other way as of now. AE should add an option to switch between running and walking to a button or a toggle option (we not both?). Simple thing as this shouldn't be left out from our ability to do so i am up for this, but what about you?

    casual stroll in a market or in a dark forest both are good
     
  5. Back then, players used to be able to record themselves walking backwards and then play the video backwards to create an interesting forward "walk animation." Afterwards, the AQ3D team released a backwards walk animation that's different than how the previous walk animation was. It would be interesting to see transformations get their own forward walk animation.

    I do think walk animation should be a feature. Maybe have it sort of like Minecraft where players can sneak by holding shift and pressing the movement keys, except in AQ3D, it would be a normal walk pace instead of a sneak, sort of like sauntering. Or maybe instead of holding shift, just press shift to have sauntering activated until the player presses shift again to disable it.

    We do want to experience these kinds of moments sometimes and situation is not different when playing AQ3D, i would like to actually just walk around in game rather than just running all the time.

    actually, some dungeons I feel would benefit from walking like the spiral tracks in that one dungeon (forgot where lol).

  9. Spiral tracks can be found in the Greenguard dungeons. They're annoying to deal with on mobile, but they're not much of an issue on PC. On mobile, you don't have too much control as you do on PC because of the joystick. I don't think walking would be the optimal solution for that, because there is a dungeon part where you have to jump from the tracks to a platform to reach a chest which is harder than getting to the top of the spiral tracks in the first place.

    Well anything that is related to platforming of any kind is going to be more difficult with mobile controls and PC version has always good time with them in general. Walking sure isn't a solution for problems with mobile versions of AQ3D because walking means less speed and less speed means you are going to be missing more jumps from platform to platform. Sometimes it's not best solution always so it's more situational than useful. I still want walking to be a feature regardless of its uses.

    If walking/running is toggleable then I think it would alleviate some of the problems regarding platforms in general since you can control your speed.. but yeah, still want walking regardless :)

    I think safe/hangout areas like Yulgar's Inn or Boog Tavern's should default to walk

  15. Probably best as a toggle feature knowing that players will always be wanting more. It wouldn't hurt to have a normal walk toggle for places outside of Yulgar's Inn and Boog's Tavern, and if the default was walk in certain places, I'm sure there'd be people who would prefer to run in those places instead.

    We cn kill steelfang with candy buckets, shoot fireballs, and rotate our heads 360. Yet cant walk and sit huh.

  20. Technically we can sit, but only in Boog's Tavern and Yulgar's Inn. Would be nice if sit was its own emote though. I'm probably more concerned that players can't unequip their weapons rather than not being able to walk, but there's a lot of features that seem to be lacking.
