    What is it?

Blitz 1941 is a Korean made, MMO tank shooter set in World War 2. It originally launched in 2006 but did not manage to succeed outside of Korea due to lack of marketing and stable servers supplied by the developers. A bunch of us used to play this back then and recently in closed beta and we were having a lot of fun with it.
Now it's coming back, courtesy of Efusion MMOG GmbH, best known for publishing the naval MMO Navyfield in Europe. Closed Beta for Blitz launched a few weeks ago and Open Beta has started now, let the tanks roll again!

    The Game

Blitz takes place on the eastern front of World War 2 era Europe. It features large scale tank battles between Wehrmacht and Red Army forces with up to 200 unique players on each of the fifteen continuous battle fields, from Berlin to Moscow and beyond. Instead of instanced maps, it features large, spawn-in maps with objectives for either side to accomplish, to wrestle control of the area. Log on, join a battle and shoot tanks for all you like.
Tanks are controlled with the keyboard for directional control and mouse for turret control and firing.

    Other notable features are:
-Enviromental advantages such as hills and cover.
-Over 60 vehicles to use. Ranging from Light and Medium to Heavy Tanks, Self-propelled Guns and Tank destroyers, each with their own unique advantages. Tigers, Panthers, Hetzers, Stugs, T34s, IS-Us, they're all there.
-Players gain experience and money for kills and completed objective, these can be used to level up your Commander. Further, they enable access to skills and abilities, which can be activated in battle for various effects. Money allows you to buy extras for your tank such as additional armor plating, muzzle brakes, barrels, treads and more for added customization.
    -15 different maps to play.
-New features and extras aswell as old envisioned content from the original devs are to be added by the guys at Efusion as the game progresses, some of which are being implemented as the beta starts.

    How do I join?

    1. Go to TwoWar.com and sign up.
    2. Activate your account through email confirmation.
    3. Download the client.
    4. Update the client, log on, create a commander and play.

    Misc.

The website and documentation are rather scarce and badly translated at the moment, this is all being worked on right now from what I've been told. Efusion are working on getting the game out and running as smoothly as possible.

So, why should I play this Korean MMO grindfest* at all?

Simply, it's fun. It's not an A-grade title by any means, no doubt about it, but it used to be a lot of good fun for a lot of goons back when it first launched and recently in closed beta, and knowing the guys at Efusion, they really are working to make this better. It works well, is easily accessible and quick to get the hang of. The download is small and there's no harm in trying it. If you like lots of tanks blowing each other up, big explosions and nicely paced action, this might really get your interest. Come join us and check it out, it's free afterall!
    *Not really that grindy.

    Some helpful pointers!
-First up, sell your auto aim module from your tank and disable "easy aiming" in the options.
-With that disabled, there's two aiming modes. One, "Target" means right clicking somewhere to aim at it. "Turret" means your aiming sights will follow your mouse movement automatically. You can switch these by pressing CAPSLOCK in game.
-Always join a company. You will get more experience from being in one and not lose anything because it's not directly shared amongst the members. You'll always want to be in one.
-TAB will lock the camera on to your tank.
-If you have capture orders, all you need to complete them is to get a few ticks of 300 damage in on the building, and survive until it turns. People will tell you to share if you're capping, meaning they want to get ticks in too. Let them.
-There's two kinds of ranks, regular levels and military ranks. Levels give you combat skill points, military ranks give military skill points. You can assign them under Combat and Military skills respectively.
-I recommend putting your first Combat skills into the self buffs, Repair, Regen, Shout, Defense, Accelerate. You can unlearn combat skills by clicking cancel and then on the skill. Right click them to drag them into your hotbar.
-I recommend putting your military skills into the armor branch of the assault tree. Ten points will boost your fortress skill and give you 50mm extra front armor, which helps a lot once you get in bigger tanks. You can unlearn them with the +- button in the lower right corner.
-With armor skills as a russian, you will be a beast once you get the Valentine at lvl 8, M4a2 at 9, and T34 at 10. Fill your tank with nothing but the biggest armor blocks.
-Buy repair and invul kits and drag them from the item menu under "c" into your second hotbar (shift 2). They will save your live from time to time.

    Commands
In the chat command line, do
/invitecompany name to invite someone into your company
    /bancompany name to kick someone
    /quitcompany to leave it
/inviteclan to invite into the clan
/helpoff to get rid of the help spam
or just Shift + right click and you will see a menu list =P
