Hedone Dev Diary 2 - Coming Soon Features preview

One of the most frustrating experiences of working in a development studio as part of the community team is that although every day there is something to see or try out (new items, levels, game play features….), a lot of the time they are still too early in development to share with the community.

This week, however, turned out to be a little different. Whilst reviewing the progress of some of these developments, our Game Director, Mario Rizzo, uttered the phrase every community manager loves to hear: “We should show the players these!â€. A quick discussion followed, agreement was reached, and we were granted permission to make a quick preview video of these future developments.

The next day,the latest versions of each feature were imported into our development build to allow us to capture footage for the preview. This can be quite challenging, as adding in a selection of ‘Work In Progress’ codes all at once can lead to unexpected issues, but in this case everything went well and capturing the footage went pretty smoothly.

The captured footage was then passed to our art team to edit the various clips, create the UI to go with each part, and bring everything together by their tight deadline into a final preview video for this Dev Diary.

Did they manage it….? Of course they did, and here it is - our first future feature preview video. We hope you like it.
