    He was outsmarted. He had such a great plan and always a one mistake could lead to revealing of KIRA("If there was a only one thing..."). Near is just one great detective.

    Light for me isn't bad person, but that power has driven him mad. He also got outsmarted so yeah, i guess that end isn't bad. By the way it was suprising no one saw that comming and that last moments of anime were really tense.
