Hello peeps, there has been some confusion about how to create a Living Avatars item. Or what in the world a Living Avatar is. I shall be answering both of these questions in this post!

    Living Avatars FAQ

    What is Living Avatars?
    • Living Avatars is a cool program that lets you make your own avatar from items that other people make! Just throw on some clothing and you have an avatar for the forums!
    • You can get to it at Website Title - Powered by Living Avatars

These things cost points? Omigosh what are points?
    • Points are worth one post each. So everything is pretty cheap!

That's cool..so I am super artistic and I want my own items in there!
    • Good for you. That is why I wrote this handy guide in this very post!

Whoa, that explosion is way too small. How do I make it bigger?
    • Just hold shift and drag the item.

    Living Avatars Creation Tutorial

So you want to create an item for the Avatars? Cool. It is quite easy, actually.
    • First, make an image in the editor of your choosing. MAKE SURE THE BACKGROUND IS TRANSPARENT AND NOT WHITE! (Learn more about this lower down.)
    • Save the image as a .png and a .gif
    • Upload both files to mediafire.com and send them to Ogreman in a PM.

But..I don't know how to make any art! I JUST WANT TO!
    • Okay, no problem. First you need a good editor. I recommend GIMP. The rest of this tutorial will use GIMP for Windows.
    • I won't explain how to use gimp in this post. There are MANY great tutorials elsewhere. Some good ones are here: GIMP - Tutorials

    Getting rid of background
    • First, click the magic wand tool.
    • Hold shift and select all things that are the background. These should all be one color.
    • Right click the layer on the layer panel and hit Create Alpha Channel.
    • Hit Edit>Clear

I generally use paint.net for anything serious (glows, blurs, layering and whatnot), but I use regular paint (that comes with windows) for recoloring. Yup, I'm pretty cheap. I don't have enough patience for photoshop.

You only need 200 posts to have a picture under your posts... When your a Ogre Regular - 200 posts. You can always do your living avatar without 200 posts. But if you want it under your post then you need 200 posts.
