Meta Assassins (MA) is a 4-month long online game tournament, where players hunt and kill their targets whilst escaping the hands of their assassins who prowl that very same e-universe, with each web page representing a virtual location.

So what happens when Bourne Identity meets Survivor on the Internet? A mishmash of social reality assassination game is born.

Launched on 1st Feb, Meta Assassins (MA) is an online Role Playing Game tournament where players are assassins on a mission to get the most number of kill points. Kill points are awarded whenever an assassin successfully wounds or kills his target, through a real-time shootout on the browser window.

MA tightens its grip on reality by assigning certain jobs to be played offline, deploying its assassins (residing within the same cities) to perform physical “dead drops†and “pick ups†– all these in real-time and within a specific window period to complete, whilst in the midst of the tournament itself. Upon successful completion, players are awarded with more kill points and game dollars to stay ahead of the game.

Anyone can play anytime and win prizes, for real

MA crosses all culture, age and gender and is definitely “work-friendlyâ€, given its game concept of daily web surfing to serve as the means to accumulate wealth and health for the game itself.

At the end of this four-month tournament, the ultimate assassin with the most number of kill points wins a pair of air tickets to the destination of his choice on one condition; it has to be where one of his previous target resides.

Knock, knock, who’s there? Indie who?
Meta Assassins is developed by independent game developer, Ape.IO, in an attempt to experiment taking an online social game to a new and different level. Unlike other online games that are restricted to a static screen or consist of time-oriented point and click tasks, MA is playable on any website and players need to strategise his tools and think of ways to lure his target to the same site for a shootout.

    Features of the game:

    1. 6 badges (in total) to be collected throughout the tournament by earning kill points through wounding and killing targets.
    2. Team Play – each player can select a Facebook group or Fan Page. All members of that group/page will become the player’s lookouts.
    3. A compelling story with multiple story plots – The ability for players to make decisions that will affect the type of Missions/Jobs/Rewards they will get.
    4. Outsource your kill missions for another player to accept, or take up to 8 kill missions on your own if you are feeling kill-thirsty!
    5. A series of online (puzzles) and offline (physical) jobs that players must fulfil in order to gain more benefits.
    6. A tournament played over a period of 4 months where members can win real, tangible prizes – A pair of air tickets to anywhere in the world, where your previous target resides.

This is one of those games they make you play freshman year of college, but now on the internets. Has potential...

Hmm, got me thinking. Is there anything like "Mafia" or "Witchhunt" but played online or in a forum or something? That could be fun.
