Both, although I'm playing it more on 360 these days, but not because it's better it's just more convenient in my current setup.

It's basically the same game. Though there is the issue that an xbox controller has less buttons to press, but this is smartly worked around :)

One big difference though is that the xbox version lacks behind quite some updates, I believe it is now in one of the later beta versions of the game, so the newest blocks are not available

It's Beta 1.7.3, with 1.8's lighting and one or two other backports. Beta 1.8.2 is next and should be coming "soon", it's the adventure update, adding Creative Mode, Hunger Bar, Regen Heath, Villages and Sprint among other things.

Last I heard after 1.8.2 they plan to jump to Release 1.2.? which is one version behind PC Minecraft at this time. Beyond that they haven't said but it's expected they continue to follow the PC releases and possibility add some custom stuff.

    Thanks Aaddron :)

Seems like the xbox will always be lagging behind a bit, as expected. The custom things they talked about might make it worthwhile though in the future

Never played the xbox version. I like my pointer and hotkeys.

I also heard the xbox version just gives you the crafting recipes so long as you have the required materials.
Just as a personal preference I'd rather have that feeling of discovery you get when crafting in the PC version.

It's not exactly like that but you're on the right track and many people have complained about it, however this isn't to make it easier it's because the traditional crafting system is a pain in the neck with a controller. I tried it before and it would've been a huge issue if they would've went with the traditional method... even if it was an option it such a pain I doubt anyone would use it beyond an hour or so. Besides most of the people complaining (not saying you) look up recipes on the wiki lol, it'd kinda a double standard.

I think they could of came up with a solution that's more true to the original while still accommodating the issues the 360 version brings but I think at the end of the day most Minecraft players are playing to build and adventure, crafting recipes aren't a big deal to them.

I know the changes to the crafting system were added to make the game more playable with an xbox controller, and I agree: Crafting items in the same way as the in original would have been too much of a hassle.

I'm not really arguing against the change, or claiming that things would be better if players had to craft just like they did in the PC version. I'm just saying I'd rather have to place my ingredients in the right order. That way I get a small sense of achievement and satisfaction whenever I stumble across a new recipe purely by guess. :)

I agree, learning crafting is part of Minecraft's charm and it's something the 360 version lacks.

I love MineCraft on the 360! It would be nice to have mods and stuff but to be honest I think its just as fun without it. My only beef with it being on the 360 is with this new update its having some lag issues. Other than that, probably my favorite game without a doubt.

Yeah I'm not really impressed with the performance of 1.8.2 either, game was silky smooth since launch now it's got some weird bugs... had a few lockups as well :/

If I play with any of my UK friends, or even play in games were host uses wireless it gets very laggy, so laggy that the map doesn't load and I can fall into it.

The 360 version is basically the same, the only difference is that the 360 version lacks a bit behind on ye old updates, at the moment it is on an equivalent of pc version 1.8.2
