Marathon

Unlocked: At the start of the game.

Effect: The player will have infinite sprint duration.

    Pro Version:

Unlocked once the player has sprinted 26 miles across all games while it is equipped.

The player will climb ladders and vault objects faster.

Sleight of Hand

Unlocked: At the start of the game.

Effect: The player will reload their weapon much faster.

Pro Version:

Unlocked after a player achieves 120 kills while having this perk equipped.

The player will aim down the sight or scope faster (the time taken to raise the weapon will be reduced).

Scavenger

Unlocked: At level 13.

Effect: Partially restocks a player's weapon loadout (this includes regular ammunition, grenades, rockets etc) if they walk over 'Scavenger Packs' that are dropped by enemy corpses. The enemy's weapon loadout does not matter, and the player's weapon loadout will not change in the process. If the player is using a Javelin or AT4 Rocket Launcher, but holster it (do not equip it while running over an enemy corpse), Scavenger will not replenish its ammo.

Pro Version:

Unlocked after the player is resupplied 100 times while using Scavenger.

The player will spawn with extra magazines for the weapons they are carrying.

Bling

Unlocked: At level 21.

Effect: Turns the player's primary weapon into a 'bling' version, which allows two attachments instead of one. However, attachments cannot be placed in the same place on a gun (for example, a grenade launcher attachment and a shotgun attachment, which both attach under the barrel of the gun). Also, the player cannot have both the akimbo and the tactical knife attachments on the same gun. Finally, the player can only have one set of optic sights OR akimbo attached to the gun.

Pro Version:

Unlocked after getting 200 kills with a 'bling' weapon with two attachments, WHILE Bling is equipped. Cannot be completed with 'bling' weapons picked up off the ground.

The player may equip two attachments on their secondary weapon.

One Man Army

Unlocked: At level 45.

Effect: Allows the player to switch classes without respawning (they can also switch to the same class, effectively replenishing all ammo). However, it replaces the secondary weapon slot with a 'One Man Army' backpack. When players switch to their secondary weapon while using this perk, the class menu comes up. There is then a five second delay before they switch.

Pro Version:

Unlocked after getting 120 kills while using One Man Army.

The waiting period for using One Man Army is reduced from five seconds to three seconds.

Second Tier

Stopping Power

Unlocked: At level 4.

Effect: Increases the player's primary and secondary weapons' power by 40%. In most situations, this would mean it takes one less bullet to kill an enemy. Because of this, it is more effective on guns with a lower fire rate. It does not increase the power of explosives, such as C4 or Claymores, as this is accomplished through the usage of the perk, Danger Close. Also, it has almost no effect in Hardcore mode. Finally, using Stopping Power in conjunction with a silencer on a sniper rifle or an LMG will effectively negate each others' effect on the power of the gun; the silencer will lower the power while Stopping Power will bring it back up to normal levels.

Pro Version:

Unlocked after achieving 250 kills while using Stopping Power.

The player will gain increased bullet damage against vehicles such as Harriers and Pave Lows.

Lightweight

Unlocked: At the start of the game.

Effect: Increases player movement speed by 7%.

Pro Effect:

Unlocked after sprinting for 30 miles with Lightweight equipped.

Reduces the delay between exiting a sprint and being able to fire the player's weapon to about half its original value.

Pro Version:

Effect: This allows the player using it to detect enemy explosives and Tactical Insertions.
Effect: After the player is dealt an amount of damage that would kill him, they are put in 'Last Stand'. This means they will lie on their back, with their pistol out, complete with attachments (including Akimbo). While in Last Stand, the player will start with a full magazine of ammo for their gun, regardless of whatever ammo they had prior to going into Last Stand. Also, the player may crawl around slowly while in Last Stand. If the player didn't have a pistol equipped to them (machine pistols do not count, except for the M93 Raffica), then they will pull out a M9 pistol instead. The player will die from a single bullet while in Last Stand, will die after 10 seconds if not killed before then, and can hold 'use' to end it themselves.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer mode, character abilities can be customized through Perks. Most of them are passive effects, though some only activate when certain conditions are met, and one needs a player action to activate (One Man Army). They are split into three tiers, and only one perk from each tier can be equipped at any one time. Some perks require unlocking through levelling up. All the perks give one effect, but they all also have 'Pro' versions that can be unlocked in various ways. These 'Pro' versions add an extra effect onto the perk, giving the perk two effects.

Pro Version:

Unlocked after sprinting for 30 miles with Lightweight equipped.

Reduces the delay between exiting a sprint and being able to fire the player's weapon to about half its original value.

    Hardline

Unlocked: At level 9.

Effect: Killstreak rewards are gained after one less kill than normal (for example, UAV would normally take 3 kills, but would only take 2 kills to acquire in a game while using Hardline).

Pro Version:

Unlocked after gaining 40 killstreak rewards while using Hardline.

Deathstreak rewards require one less death to gain, with the exception of Painkiller.

    Cold-Blooded

Unlocked: At level 25.

Effect: The player will be invisible to UAV, Sentry Guns, Harriers, and computer controlled Helicopters (i.e. They won't be targeted or seen by these.) With Chopper Gunners, AC-130s, and Predator Missiles, enemy players using Cold-Blooded will still appear on the screen, but won't be highlighted by a red rectangle or a white silhouette. Also, players using Cold-Blooded seen through a thermal scope will appear as shades of grey similar to the environment, instead of as a white-hot silhouette. Players will still be seen through normal means that don't rely on the above though.

Pro Version:

Unlocked after destroying 40 enemy killstreak rewards (such as enemy helicopters, harriers, UAVs etc) while using Cold-Blooded.

When targeted, a player using Cold-Blooded Pro will have their name show up in red, nor will a red crosshair appear.

    Danger Close

Unlocked: At level 33.

Effect: Multiplies the player's explosive damage by 1.4 (Rocket launchers, Grenades, Claymores etc).

Pro Version:

Unlocked after getting 100 kills from explosives while using this perk.

Increases the player's killstreak rewards' power by 1.4, excluding UAV, Counter-UAV, Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, EMP, and Tactical Nuke.

Commando

Unlocked: At the start of the game.

Effect: Increases the knife melee distance greatly, allowing the player to make an extremely high speed lunge of about three metres when striking a target (the extreme high speed causes many players to think it is a 'teleport', but in fact, it is a lunge, and players can be killed and stopped while performing the strike).

Pro Version:

Unlocked by making 20 melee kills while having the perk equipped. This includes knives, tactical knives, and riot shields (even though the latter isn't a knife, and will not cause a lunge while using it and Commando).

Completely negates damage from high falls (though there is still the sound of bone cracking when falling from a large height).
