Diablo 1 and 2 are so addictive because you can just hack and slash your way to kinds of loot!

WoW was addictive because of the ginormous player base.

well those aren't mmorpgs. last i recalled anyway they are just rpg hack and slash solos where you raid dungeons repeatedly.

Dungeons and Dragons Online had me very addicted for a while. I obsessed with trying every way to build a character and tried every class. That was a fun game!

Reasons I left - 1) I did not feel like buying one dungeon at a time. I would rather have paid a one time only fee opening up all content and be done with it. It was to confusing on which dungeon to buy. Everyone had a different opinion so I gave up. 2) DDO has a game card but you could not use it to buy a premium membership. 3) A dungeon only game gets old in it's own way. I started to miss exploration. 4) The guild airship they added in an update annoyed me. It was loud, lagged the main city, and it was part of guild rewards which I had no part in. I missed the beautiful quiet sunrises and sunsets I would view on top of buildings I climbed. That airship was obnoxious.

Once I leave a game I can't go back. I'm one of those need things to be new peeps.

I find the combination of Western history & fantasy very appealing and the story's not bad. Plus, I get to play dress up my characters & the BGM is superb! <3
