Shorter Signatures?

Sounds great

i say leave it at normal siggy size like my sigs... maybe longer

and maybe 3 pics xD

coz i have many stat sigs...

 

good thing my old signature is dead.

 

Okay how about something like this: (I used the same format as a forum I used to use so I felt it might be proper)
I felt 500x300 was a good size to stop at. I can change the picture a bit if needed. Or someone else. its a very basic picture.

1. Maximum total signature height limit of 300 px. This includes any text. *note* text takes up about 15 pixels height per line.

2. Maximum total signature width limit of 500 px.

3. Maximum 2 images in signature. When including 2 images into a signature, they may have a maximum height of 140 individually.

4. Maximum picture height for one individual image is 285 px.

5. Maximum total image file-size (update this. it differs for ogre regulars and royal ogres)

6. Keep it PG-13.



And of course having two pictures above each other ending up at 280px. But if you read the rules the max height of the image(s) is 160px, the other 15 px is for your text.

If you wish to turn of signatures you can go to User CP in the top left corner -> Edit Options -> Thread Display options

 

Why the small max width? Cant the width be bigger, as long as it doesnt enlarge the thread (for example like Supers news pictures sometimes do)

 

Idk 500 is what we have had it at. If we wanted to do the max width its about 700 pixels before my screen starts to change it so its up to ogre or GO members as a whole. I'm just laying down the format nothing is set in stone yet.

 

you know what should we change?Allowing animation in avatars,well for me.
I mean,my avatar is not creepy enough without it eyeball movement. :[

 

Your siggy makes up for it though xD

 

Some pictures can be animated. You just need to make sure it is small enough. The one you made right here is too large. try to make it 100x100 or whatever and then animate it. I have a few animated avatars somewhere on gameogre.

I know that quinn, but I think that more than 500 pixels are needed even for those screens. I know you have a smaller screen, how large can a siggy be for you?

 

Well Ogreman said that 700 width for a banner is fine. But the height is much larger on a banner of course. He didn't say it in this instance but it was used for the free game fiesta banner.

A signature should definitely be shorter smaller than a banner though imo.

We shall see what ogre thinks once he posts again sometime

 

To be honest, for me a smaller signature size is fine (look at my own), just want to make sure this is settled now (not that members start complaining later), because with that as a max we have a good reason to not make it larger. Remember it is just a max, not some thing every siggy will look like, maybe even none

 

I like to do max width. Not always height though.

So 700 would be okay for you? Well, no larger width options are included in the poll, so that should be fine (we'll end up with 600 probably anyway)
