    The Hidden Surprises of SMITE

Easter Eggs are to videogames as cameos are to film. We don’t necessarily expect them (unless you’re Stan Lee), but they’re a nice nod to the audience. Hi-Rez Studios are no exception and there are a fair number of easter eggs waiting for players within SMITE, you just have to look in the right places! I mean, alternatively, just read the rest of this article and you will know about most of them.

    Jesus Christ Fresco

This is by far the most well known Easter Egg within SMITE, and one that is actively sought out by the community. After every patch that changes are made to the Joust map, the painting is moved to a new location. You can see its current location in the picture below!

    Gravestone Inscriptions

In the Conquest map, there are a handful of gravestones littered around the map. All of these hold an inscription that is a shoutout to a member of Hi-Rez Staff.

A few of the inscriptions are:

    > HiRezRick - “Never drink Rick’s Milk!â€

    > HiRezXelan - “Tiled everything by handâ€

    > HiRezHolt - “Quality needs consistencyâ€

    Gold Fury Coins

In the Conquest map the Gold Fury sits atop a pile of gold coins. What you may not know is that these coins have a SMITE lightning bolt on the back and Thomas Holt’s, SMITE’s Art Director, face on the front.

    Remember the Manticore (and Minotaur)

The Manticore and Minotaur are still in the Conquest map as a nod to the players of old. The Minotaur are used within the Red buff camps, and also in the Chaos Fountain. The Manticore guards the cemeteries on the Chaos side of the map.

    Raise your Dongers

In the new Arena map, if you take a look at the roaring crowd in the stadium, you will notice that a handful of fans can be seen raising up yellow spirit sticks, just like at the SMITE eSports events!
