Upcoming Forum Review Contest

    After hosting many review contests for game companies, GameOgre.com is now going to host a review contest for forum members:).

    Thanks goes out to Exo for coming up with the idea.

    The purpose of this thread is to get ideas for the details of the contest.

    All we have decided on so far is that the grand prize will be a $10 Ultimate Game Card.

    A few other possibilities that are not in stone yet include:

    Forum points being awarded to runner-ups.
    Ending the contest on September 1st.
    The winner being decided by the most reviews during the contest.
    The winner being decided by a point system.

    Any suggestions?

    I don't think most reviews will work, because people can spam this:

    "This game is great. The community is absolutely awesome.

    Graphics - 10/10. They are just absolutely amazing!
    Community - 8/10. They are ok, but a bit mean.
    Gameplay - 10/10. I love the big swords!

    Overall..You should definitely play this awesome game."

    That took me less than a minute to write. At that rate, thats 60 reviews every hour.

    I think one review PER game..(Meaning multiple games can be used) can decide winners. ^.^

    Good point, but we are considering a system that should avoid something like that:

    1. Reviewers get one point for each review.
    2. A reviewer gets another two points from the same review if that review is the best for that particular game in a week.
    3. We start having a Review of the Week for only forum members. The winner of that each week gets 5 points.

    Number two is the important rule because it should prevent people from just spamming reviews. With this method, quality will get more points than quantity for a particular game.

    Also, anybody using the same review each time will be disqualified.
