Max class rank is going to be increased from 10 to 100 with this Tuesday's update and you will gain special armors, weapons and titles when you reached to specific ranks. What do you think about that?

  2. For the most part, it's a bit of a disappointment. Not really worth farming for the new items unless there are better incentives; it's better to just accumulate those ranks over several months rather than farm them all in a short time span.

First, the class tokens you've accumulated cannot contribute to experience past rank 10 (so if you have something crazy like 35,000 Pirate Class Tokens, you won't be able to spend any of it for experience past rank 10). Honestly if they made tokens more useful, there would be a lot more active players doing daily quests, which would make some areas not feel so dead.

Secondly, the new armors just don't stand out that much... only few exceptions would be Mage with the purple armor and Necromancer with the tattered robes; personally I wished they made class armors a reflection of AQWorlds class armors or something to give a bit of nostalgia. Even just differentiating the existing color scheme would have been sufficient; for instance, why not make the new Ninja armors blue colored since blue is the traditional color of ninja garbs instead of keeping it black with only a few additions like sleeves and shiny bits?

Thirdly, they made it so you HAVE to use Pirate class to farm for experience, meaning you can't use Alpha Pirate and enjoy using its exclusive Braken summoning skill. Would've been better if they just merged Pirate with Alpha Pirate somehow, so you could farm experience without having to use the regular Pirate class. Why even make Alpha Pirate a class in the first place, if it's just going to have certain restrictions?

And finally, 100 ranks is just outright ridiculous; most people would just use class XP boosts (earned from daily treasure chests) and kill monsters in the same area, and it gets boring. The worst part about farming for class XP is that quests don't contribute anything to class experience, and that has been a problem even for farming to just rank 10. Honestly, they should do something like make quests give out 10% of your level experience as class experience, or incentivize a bonus for class XP if the player has already maxed out their level experience. More incentives would actually encourage regular players to play more.

If you ask me, it was meaningless to expand class ranks to 100. Farming rare items is not an enough time-filler thing for players anymore and they just did this. This game needs more storyline and more mechanic features. Not more cosmetic. I mean, reaching to 100 is a lucubratory thing and all you get is cosmetics. Come on.

  4. And even without considering the 100 ranks for each class, the game already has plenty of filler content. All that the game can supply at this point is more filler content, and it's unfortunate, because AE cannot manage as much when they lack the resources to create new maps, new monsters, and new game assets. Everything has to be reused in some way, and most ideas never get implemented in the most ideal way. But even if adding a new story seems unreasonable, that shouldn't stop them from adding new content that actually feels refreshing and not just another grindfest. I'd like to see mini-games or something that'll give casual players a reason to keep visiting the game.
