    Depends on the item and purpose. If I'm mining, I prefer Fortune, especially when mining diamond ores. For battles, I mainly prefer Sharpness for close combat and Infinity for range combat (since I won't have to worry about depletion of arrows). For armor, I just go with Protection (nothing too special like Blast Protection or Projectile Protection) and sometimes Feather Falling, which can sometimes be a life saver if you accidentally fall in a ravine or some pit.
