What's the biggest misconception you had as a child ?

    When I was a kid, I always thought stars in the sky were actually small like you see them in the night sky, and I've always wondered how space ships avoided colliding with the stars considering that they're everywhere in space. But the truth is that stars are actually far away, and that space is vastly empty.

    I thought that taking French class would be mandatory, since Canada is known to also use French. However, after I got transferred out of a French immersion class in 6th grade, that was when I found out that doing French class is optional.

    There's always the misconception that incoming freshmen get beaten up and bullied by upperclassmen; however, I don't recall any student ever getting targeted just for being a freshman. Plus the high school I went to had its own no tolerance policy which discouraged that sort of behavior.
